Why?

This. thing. took. forever.

This was one massive experiment in textures, colors, and painting styles. I tried new brushes and techniques I haven't used before. I can still see glaring errors in the piece, but I've been staring at it all day (and had been working on it weeks prior) and have to call it 'done' at some point. After all, art can be tweaked and tweaked and tweaked until I die, but it's best to call it finished before that happens.

Fiancee said this girl had sort of a 'sad puppy' look. I imagined her more as being dejected but determined. The title refers to my mental image of her- asking some sort of intruder why they've burned down her town. I tried to give her a sort of searching/pleading gaze, but in my head she never really gets the answer she seeks.
